Welcome to Math Is Visual.
This website was created to assist in building a better conceptual understanding of mathematics through the use of visuals. The images, videos and resources shared here are intended to help all teachers, parents and students understand that Math Is Visual and we should take every opportunity to teach it that way.
My name is Kyle Pearce and I am a (former) high school mathematics teacher and (current) K-12 Mathematics Consultant who is striving to make mathematics more accessible and therefore more equitable for all learners. We are all “math people” and we can all find ways to enjoy playing with mathematics in order to learn and grow.
Many of these visual math talk prompts are inspired or modified from the Make Math Moments problem based math lessons and units that are shared to build educator mathematics content knowledge and sharpen our pedagogical practices when teaching mathematics from Pre-K through grade 12.
